TwitterCon: Politwits

Twitter is full of otaku content-- here's a few of the most interesting tweets this week.

Hot Topics:

Oddly enough-- or perhaps not so oddly? --it's politics. ANNZac, EdSizemore, TimMaughan, and Yuricon are discussing various aspects of politics...not the specifics of the health care debate, but some more general stuff. I particularly like Ed's note about "positive politics."

Tweets of Note:

  • FUNimation notes that Soul Eater will hit DVD in "early 2010," for those of you itching to get your hands on a copy.
  • If you're looking for a good deal on some live-action material, Right Stuf's Anime Today announces that they're having a special on the K-Drama The Grand Chef-- but only through 8/26!
  • Falahime snatched up a copy of the manga of Blade of the Immortal and wonders if she'll even be able to read manga left-to-right. If you read manhwa (or any of the flipped Tezuka releases), it shouldn't be a problem to adjust. :)
  • Matt Magician has an interesting factoid about Coca Cola, my soda of choice I might add (my dad's from Atlanta; it's a family requirement).
  • And finally, to end on a positive note, Yuricon has a cool message about risk-taking: "The real risk takers are the ones that make it possible for us to push forward every day. It's cool, isn't it?"
  • Edited to add: thanks to user sunflower for pointing out that DMP is teasing a new yaoi license!

Carry on, kiddos-- and again, feel free to offer suggestions on ways to improve this new feature!

There was a tweet of note from DMP yesterday that they just got the license to an "awesome" title that will make many of their yaoi fans quite happy, and they'll be announcing it at yaoicon.
I think this is one I've been waiting for for a while.

@sunflower: Damn, I knew I missed someone! What license do you think it is?
sunfloweron Aug. 21, 2009 at 1:29 p.m.
@gia: I'm hoping it's Viewfinder, since they've been saying they've been in talks for it for a little while now (and so has Kitty, from what I've heard).   But really it could be several licenses that are in limbo because of DQ and BB.  The Tyrant Who Falls in Love and Kizuna are two other big ones it might be.

@sunflower: Under Grand Hotel. UNDER GRAND HOTEL, DAMNIT.

@lanaswift: I have to be honest and say that while I really like Mika Sadahiro I just don't like UGH that much.  It's a great series, but not to my tastes.  I can see a lot of people enjoying it though.  That could very well be the title they got.
