It's been a crazy week, and you don't need this post to tell you that. But enjoy it anyway!
Hot Topics:
This is totally unrelated to anime, really, but I know a lot of us here are Kevin Smith fans, so I thought I'd let you know that on Monday (Labor Day!), Kevin Smith will do a Twitter-based Q&A...for the entire day. Masochist much, Kev?ADV was a hot topic, and a few people started talking about ANN's-- and my --choice to say that the company has "shut down." Here's one such. We all defended the choice, but I also shipped out some questions to former ADV-er Chris Oarr to confirm, to make sure everyone's satisfied.
And finally...NYAF! The schedule's up, so a lot of us are planning karaoke outings and Kinokuniya trips. And stalkings of the Soul Eater English dub cast. And throwing chairs at me. <3
I'm going to take this moment to point you again to the schedule, which includes not one but two panels I'll be on: How to Become Famous on the Internet (yeah, I don't know why they asked me) and the Blogger Roundtable. GodLen will be attending the con with me, so be sure to let us know if you'll be around so we can say hi!
Tweets of Note:
I like that @FUNimation dreamed about going to Japan... via bicycle.@Manga_Critic expresses surprise at Tpop's rescue of Suppli, given that the company always complained about the series' lack of sales. I wonder if that means they have some new marketing ideas in the works?
Vertical Inc's Ed announced that review copies of Cute Dogs are being sent out. He also ran a quick contest (first five to send him pics of their own cute dogs got a free copy of the book), but it was a couple of hours ago so I doubt it's still running!
Right Stuf has announced that NETCOMICS titles are 25% off-- "every day," which sounds permanent to me. Awesome!
Aaaand the American Cosplay Paradise crew will be doing a promo at the Nintendo World Store in NYC this weekend for Muramasa the Demon Blade, so check it out and say hi to Henry (if he's there)!
