This Toyday I thought I'd present a figure and then ask for your opinion on something. This is FREEing's latest figure of Lucky Star's Konata, which features her in her PE outfit. Her clothes are actual cloth, so you can lift up her shirt to show off her tummy or tug down her shorts to reveal what appear to be some pretty cute blue panties. The panties appear to be sculpted on, though, so no taking them off.
She's ¼ scale and runs ¥11,800 (about $120 USD)-- pretty expensive for a figure that, clothing aside, is pretty simplistic, but it looks like the “real” price (as opposed to the MSRP) will generally remain under a hundred bucks USD.

So now I want to ask: do you like figures that come with “real” clothing like this, ability to denude them aside? Maybe it's because in the US we tend to associated such clothing with Barbie and G.I. Joe, but in my opinion “real” clothes on figures tend to look kind of cheap, so I actually don't usually like them...but on the other hand, some of the sculpted ones look awful and/or overdone, too.

How about you? Real clothes or sculpted clothes?

I dunno, I kinda like the look from the real clothes. Though a big problem I imagine using real clothes would be for figures in action poses, where the clothes should look dynamic. In that situation sculpted would be better.

Cute Konata though ^^

I have one figure with real cloth clothing on it, but it was worth it. I bought the 12" Roy Mustang figure with real clothing a couple of years back. I love the FMA military outfit so to have a small replica of it delighted me. This figure on the other hand, I think it's a little over priced. I mean, it's just shorts and a t-shirt, you can find better clothes on Barbie dolls that got for way cheaper.

It purely depends on how the clothes are sculpted versus how it would look cloth-wise. For example, the Yoko dollfie looks kinda off compared to some of the sculpted Yokos.

I generally prefer the sculpted ones though because it follows canonly more than the fabric kinds. Though... this Konata looks cute since it's a simple outfit.
