Tuesday is Toyday 01/27/09

A few of the week's awesomest figures and merch!

Three figures for you this fine (and snowy!) Tuesday!

The first is from Moon Toys, a really nicely sculpted original work by Kei Toume, the creator of the manga Lament of the Lamb. Titled “Skit Scooter,” I love her scooter and I also really like that checker cab-style obi over her kimono. The street clothes are, honestly, a bit less interesting to me...but a nice figure nonetheless.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha no A's, but this is a pretty badass figure of the adult title character. Her face is nice, and I rather like the painstaking shading-- but my biggest favorite on this is the hair. Yum.

Now, this new Kotobukiya Yoko figure has me a bit torn. I love her pose, and her body looks just fantastic-- plus, Boota is freakin' awesome. But the face is kind of odd-- at some angles I like it, and at others it looks rather odd, particularly around the mouth I think.

What do you think guys? Is that Yoko win or fail?

That Yoko is fail due to her face. I really like that scooter and Nanoha figure. I'm more impressed by Saber Lily ~Distant Avalon~ even though it wasn't mentioned here possibly because I made a blog about her.

I'm really digging that scooter but I don't really see the appeal of the first figure's clothes. They don't seem as polished as the scooter itself.

I don't like that Yoko. The face creeps me out. I really love Eye Up, Revoltech, and that one realistic looking Yoko figure.

i agree Gia, the face is weird, puts me off the figure.

Not a fan of the Yoko figure... but then again, I'd be happy not to see another Yoko figure for at least a year. I'm Yoko'd out.
I do like the girl on the scooter, though. If I had the money & the space, I'd definitely want to get her for my figure collection.

*looks at post* 'odd' Odd? Looks more than 'odd'.

Void_Wizard: Actually, it's because I posted about Saber Lily back in December :)
Void_Wizardon Jan. 27, 2009 at 4:55 p.m.
Gia: True, but the picture from that time was mediocre. :P
