The new Doraemon movie trailer is pretty adorable

Remake comes out in 2011

In case you don't already know, Doraemon is kind of a big deal in Japan. The beloved franchise has been around since the late sixties, and you can buy everything from Doraemon t shirts to Doraemon vibrators if you make your way over to the land of the rising sun. Think I'm making that up? Think again...

The new film, due out in 2011, is called  Doraemon: Shin Nobita to Tetsujin Heidan ~ Habatake Tenshi-tachi~ and is actually a remake of a previous Doraemon film called Nobita and the Platoon of Iron Men. To check out the trailer, go to the official site and click the rotating blue icon on the right hand side of the page. I'm a sucker for anything Doraemon-related, so I'll be keeping an eye out for it after it comes out. Ever seen a Doraemon film, or are they too child-oriented to catch your interest?

The trailer would be more fun to watch if it wasn't trying to stream so jankily.

Dig Deeper into Doraemon

One of Japan's most iconic franchises, Doraemon was created by mangaka Fujiko F. Fujio and spanned 45 volumes between its start in 1969 and its final issue in 1996.
