Take a Look at the Live-Action girl Who Leapt Through Time Trailer

An anime classic leaps into the land of the 3D.

Here is the newest trailer to the live-action adaption of Yasutaka Tsutsui’s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time anime/novel/manga. This will not share the same story as the anime film or novel. Basically the 18-year-old daughter of the novel’s heroine jumps back in time to see her mom’s first love; think Back to the Future. This movie will open next March; or now if you are a girl who can leap through time.

Not sure how I feel about them just using the name to promote it, if it has nothing to do with the earlier works, but I won't rant and rave. I won't watch it, doesn't look too good, but I can see why people will.

I have the same complaint but i`ve learned from previous experience that at times a different story might be for the better so i`ll give it a chance i guess.

Only interested if this was a Live action porno based on Time Traveling nuts. The Girl who Leapt on My Nuts ... or something.

@Sombre: I think you missed the description under the video. it does have to do with the original source material from the novel, just not the same story.

So unless GodLen got the description wrong, it's basically a sequel.

The Girl Who Lept Through Time is without a doubt my favourite anime movie ever. That's not too weird though since the anime movies I usually watch are, more often then not, crap.

so If I get an opportunity, maybe I'll watch it.

@Sombre: True, but it does have something to do with the original story.

I don't mind it being a sequel. I already saw the movie. I don't need to see it again with real people this time.

I'll still probably watch it, if it gets to the UK before 2014 :(

I loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time but I'm just not feeling it for this film. That is based of just this trailer of course I'll still give it a shot whenever it ends up getting released or w/e.

It would be good to compare both versions. Nice touch that they casted the same actress that voiced Makoto.

I will watch it, and probably like it, but i think the anime will still be the best way to watch it.
