SWORD ART ONLINE Lets You Rap with Richie Branson

Following the "open source" theme of the show, the Otaku King is now inviting everybody to rap with him.

Richie Branson’s newest, currently-unfolding “Otaku Tuesdays” album has been all about fan participation. Earlier this week, he let his followers vote on which new show he’d pay tribute to, and SWORD ART ONLINE ultimately won out over KILL LA KILL, leading to “Sword Art Cipher” above.

(I’ll confess to having quit the series right after the first episode, so most of the track’s references are lost on me, but it’s still got a sick beat and a funny dig at living cartoon character, Rob Ford).

The man is continuing to put such extra effort out to get his fans up on stage with him, as it were, and later this week, he issued them an open challenge. Richie’s made available the instrumental tracks for “Against the Wall,” his tribute to ATTACK ON TITAN, as well as every previous Otaku Tuesday song, and he is inviting any and all listeners to use these beats to make their own raps. Post your riff on Richie on your social media platform of choice and it might actually end up on the final “Otaku Tuesdays III” album.

I’m sure Sam Weller’s going to take this opportunity to finally make an ode to MY LITTLE PONY in the style of RZA, and I just might finally express my undying love for ESCAFLOWNE in rhyme. What about you lunatics? I’m sure you’re going to hop, skip and jump at this. What anime will you pay tribute to?
