Summer 2014 Anime Report -- AKAME GA KILL + GLASSLIP + AI-MI-MAI

THE VICE PIT. Where did these new shows land on the Rock or Suck Scale?

Akame ga Kill a harem? Um no. Usually a harem needs 3 or more love interests. He has zero by episode 5 that he is romantically interested in. An no one sided pining either.

Does it suffer some from monster of the week / character of the week. A bit. Not so bad as to detract from the main story or even harm it in a formula type way.

Blood wise this does not get the black fog censor like Tokyo Ghoul.

Nagi no Asukara was one of my favorite 2013 shows. Haven't watch passed episode 1 for Glasslip. It didn't grab me like Nagi no Asukara did. Haven't seen Ai Mai Mi ~Mousou Catastrophe~, it reminds me of Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun that actually focuses on creating a manga. I love Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun. It's a slice of life comedy show about a young, short girl who finds the tall guy she been crushing on turns to be her favorite mangaka of her beloved shoujo manga.

I enjoyed Akame ga Kill. It's not really a harem series. Tatsumi doesn't have any love interests. It doesn't appear Mine or Akame are interested in him or Tatsumi interested in those two. He lost his two childhood friends to a sadist. So far, there isn't much romance in this show, just gore and action shifting drastically with a comedic tone. It doesn't suffer from monster of the week trope as much as Stardust Crusaders.

I still have Tokyo ESP on my watch list.
