Straight Up News 11/30/09

Gia goes through the last week of news headlines, memes, and gossip.

We're getting ready to close Monday out here, and you know what that means-- it's Straight-Up News. There's a lot packed into this under-5-minute video, so let's get started on it!

And of course, links to all the stuff we discussed...

Whew...that's a lot!

I couldn't get past the first season of Ikki Tousen. I tried to give it a fair shot, but all the acts of implied rape that kept coming up really turned me off to the whole series. I had no desire to move forward in the series.

I think I've come across a few of the AG series. The name seems familiar, but I could be thinking of something else.

Good Lord, those koi look like they could eat a cat.

Thanks for all the news Gia, Straight Up News might be my favourite feature atm. The weekly WTF is definitely a nice touch, I literally just sat there wide-eyed at the end until it finished and went ".......what?"

Can't say I'm gunna vote for that book cover though... am I alone in wondering why it's been nominated?

@Newten: I think it's more the entire series than that single volume; they're all very much in that style, which is very unusual amongst books both American and Japanese-- I think it's pretty cool. Though if you don't read the manga itself it's probably hard to see how it's thematic :)

@crusader8463: I'm 50/50 on if this was more or less amusing than the video itself. Good job. Hopefully your fingers will heal in time.
