That jacket was clearly just a quick fix for volume 1 and I'm happy to report that for volume 2, they're doing the reverse: the book will come with a jacket with a 'westernized' cover, which you can remove to reveal an English version of the original Japanese cover, directly printed on the book.
Rock on, Yen Press! And it just goes to show that people listen when you talk...but uh, that doesn't mean you shouldn't occasionally talk with your wallet, and that you shouldn't be polite. Or at least mostly polite.

Ya I saw a couple months ago on the Chapters/Indigo listing for volume 2 (and 3 as well) that the image was the original art. The slip cover is new though.
They took it down fairly soon after putting the listing up though so I was curious to see if that was really going to be it. Nice to see it confirmed, although I didn't mind the other cover to much. It's not my thing but I cared more about the text than the cover.
And just as an extra note, that "new" cover is WAY better than the one they put together for the first volume.
The original's cover change was kind of confusing. It was as if they were worried about some kind of stigma of being compared to an anime due to the cover having an anime-esque theme.
The fact that they have to now add two different covers shows one of the problems with over localization of a product. It just creates two different audiences that need to be to be placated when only one cover is needed. Still, it's only the cover. It's when you change the content on the inside that it too far.
But this is awesome~ The new photo jacket actually looks much better than the first volume's and the actual cover is <3
Hmm. Its questionable. Like, we obviously don't see any of the background business, but depending on sales and initial print size, they might not need/be interested in even doing a reprint. And if they did, I... well, I just don't think they'd feel it'd be worth the trouble... unless of course they thought it would get our attention and move more copies.

no joke... there was a reason fans were in a an uproar.
Wouldn't laying down lit torches be a bad thing?
very bad indeed, but they can endure a little fire or two
