So… I’ve had a nasty bug for the past few days - - the kind that feels like it’s filled your head with all sorts of sticky crap - - and that’s what this delay of material’s been all about. Sorry about that, lunatics! I’m back on track, though, and setting up to put some cool content together at Anime Expo this weekend. I’ll make it up to all of you!
It felt appropriate that my predicament felt like the sort of challenge Mutta would have to surmount in this show. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some episode coming up that actually centered on the guy having to having to work through a cold or flu whilst making his way through this strenuous program. I mean, the show demonstrates here that isn’t afraid to get into all the minute details of a team-building exercise. It ain’t like they’re going to deem a bout with the sniffles as something too trivial to delve into.
As happens with most shows I follow for this column, I’ve reached a point where my commentary’s going to get a little repetitive as I find myself unavoidably having to repeat observations I keyed in on earlier in the series. It goes to show that the “snap judgment” factor applies just as often to shows you’ll like. In this case, I’m saying again that I think this show’s got fleshed-out and appealing characters, it provides some intriguing procedural insights into the space program… and it also might be better enjoyed in the abbreviated movie version. As much I like the show, the pacing’s gotten a wee too deliberate and a cliffhanger involving a bus simply arriving at a facility would certainly evidence that.
Watch this episode, "Running Bus” here and decide for yourself, then read my comments on the previous episode here.

There is actually a live-action movie of Space Brothers if I remember correctly.
Also, the sniffles is not trivial at all >.> my cousin the sniffles a few weeks ago and.. oh you know what never mind..
If the latter I'm glad you somehow survived to write the next article, they're pretty serious.
Show is still pretty slow paced, though I hear its going to be 40-50+ episodes, rather than the one season I orginally thought when it began?
