Judging by the cover promo on Hulu, I assumed this was going to be a sports anime with just a touch of the supernatural. That reaper’s scythe looks enough like a hockey stick, right? One could very easily assume that the “H” in the title does, in fact, refer to that game of pucks and skates.
Instead, I watched what felt like a censored and abbreviated cut of a hentai. It’s an entertaining and amusing bowdlerized hentai, of course - - but I’m still left wondering why they’ve only taking it halfway.
I mean, look… the various conspicuous black-out bands running over the girl’s naughty bits aren’t even the point of discussion here. I’m sure the network or the licensor, or whomever it was that received material that was a little too hot to handle, probably had to hastily find a way to make this at least somewhat presentable through this channel.
I’m more befuddled by how the main character is such a raging horndog and he keeps getting put into these textbook porno set-ups that might as well be accompanied by a wa-wa pedal - - and yet the show never actually follows through on them. Among other things (including copious nudity), the show makes a blatant cunnilingus sight gag, names the whole episode after the guy’s silly euphemism for female genitalia and then centers its theme on the merits of being a perv.
At that point, what’s left to be bashful about?
Like I’ve said repeatedly, I’m at a point now where I don’t even know how I’m enjoying a given anime. I have enough distance to appreciate the humor of this show, even if I wouldn’t otherwise ever seek it out. Rest assured, I wouldn’t be going into an anime with a… * AHEM * … specific agenda, but there a plenty of viewers who do. Why cross all these lines, and then leave them with blue balls?
Watch this episode, “Red String of Fate" here and decide for yourself.

Plenty of anime follow this borderline hentai(esqe) atmosphere from freezing to ikkitousen. it does get irritating and just makes you wish they just went full blown hentai to be (if nothing else) consistent.
Well, at least it's not Kiss x Sis @_@
I am a virgin, therefor I shall not provide a comment at the risk of sounding naive,
The title of the original light novel roughly translates to "So I Can't Be A Pervert?", because the evil god whatshername sucked out the MC's ability to be horny or something at the start. That alone should tell you to stay away.
Series reminded me of http://www.comicvine.com/warriors-of-plasm/49-18255/ like alot.
Over all it was meh . An well hulu censored version might make things aprear even more than what they are in some cases. Its not henti no sex shown etc.

I'm 12 what is this sh*^? I suppose I should be surprised it was the second comment and not the first...
Still did you SERIOUSLY go into this thinking it was about hockey? That is hilarious if true...I mean you are involved enough in anime now I would think to get the references more than that...
Basically they censored these shows and in hope to increase sales of the DVD/Blu ray when it becomes uncensored. However, it doesn't get pass the part where the show has nothing going for it and it really annoying to see them keep doing it.
Two words: Fantasy. And Ecchi. Those are the weird parameters under which this show was made, and yes, it's not that good.
I WANT BOOBZZZZZZZZZZZ
Heh. I don't think a hockey anime even exists!

That would be the most popular Anime in Canada, I'm certain ;)
This isn't one of the best shows of it's type (nor is it the worst, by a long shot) but at least the main character isn't the typical spineless harem lead, that's probably my biggest pet peeve with harem anime.

I have to agree with this.
I didn't enjoy this show much, and I drop it on episode 5 or so. I hate to say this but Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero was much more entertaining despite the nasty fan service towards the women because of Akatsuki's perverted actions.
