Shounen Sitcoms and Other Anime TV I Want

From the fantasies in my head, as usual.

Folks, there is a reason why I am a blogger here, and am not developing TV shows for major networks. And the reason...is that I have never tried to get any work developing TV shows for major networks, actually, but the reason I've never tried is because I doubt anyone would put me in charge of anything like that.

Because this is the kind of stuff I'd come up with.

SHINIGAMIS - Yes, it would have that terrible pluralization, and it would also use the font from Friends. The basic idea is that you'd have this apartment building, and each apartment housed two or three of the hilarious match-ups from Bleach: Ichigo and Renji live in one apartment, while Rukia and Orihime live in another right across the way, and Ichigo and Renji both compete for the affections of Rukia, to hilarious effect! Their neighbors include Aizen, who has a penchant for meddling in their love lives! The episode where Kenpachi tries to hide Yachiru from an amusingly obsessive Child Protective Services agent will be comedy gold.

SURVIVAL: NARUTO - In the first episode of this reality series, a group of 12-year-old martial artists are enrolled in a ninja school. As the season continues they spend less and less time in school and more and more time out taking part in challenges against one another, trying to earn immunity from the producer, who will be referred to as the Hokage. In episode six, a major twist will be introduced: the kids will be informed that all of their parents are dead, and the series will shift to a giant emo-fest.

TRUE VAMPIRE KNIGHT BLOOD - HBO's latest sizzling soap opera-- with vampires! Love triangles, familial battles, mysterious classmates and amnesiacs...actually it'll be exactly like the Vampire Knight manga, but live-action. Huh.

For some reason I really wanna watch SHINIGAMIS. Maybe it's because I often find the episodes with Renji spending time in the real world quite amusing.

It's always difficult coming up with plurals for certain words. Though, I wonder if Shimigami is like the word sheep. Plural even in it's original form.
Kenpachi trying to hide Yachiru could be funny, but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would hide anything. Try and take her away and he'll just slice you in half,

Naruto has more become something along the lines of tween drama. Ever since that time skip it has really started to go down hill. Naruto fainted. He literally fainted just because he got some bad news. At least when Luffy went catatonic it was for something actually traumatic.

@FoxxFireArt: In Japanese, there is no plural. One anime, ten anime, one manga, ten manga, one shinigami, ten shinigami. But to make it match with "Friends" better (and for the opportunity to mock people who say "animes" and "mangas"), I added the S ;)

@Newten: Yeah, I'd totally watch a Bleach sitcom. When sales of regular Bleach start to really drop, Tite Kubo should start releasing a slice-of-life/sitcom version in a 4koma comic strip format :D

I can see myself watching the bleach one, though i'd rather have it be all of soul society, and ichigo and crew being side characters.

@gia:
There are some plurals. One example is the suffix "bara" ばら that can be added to a certain class of people to create a plural. Sometimes the Straw Hat Crew in One Piece are call "mugiwara-dachi" to mean Straw Hats.

I get why you added the "S". It just got me thinking about how it can be awkward for some words to have plurals. Such as the words colossus or succubus. It's just funny how the plural for colossus is "colossi".

@FoxxFireArt: ~tachi and ~ra are added to some words to refer to a group of people, that's true. But I don't know if Shinigami-tachi would really take off in the States ;) You don't come across bara all that often, in my experience. (Well, unless you count bara as in a genre of gay manga. Mm, homonyms ^_^

I would Watch SHINIGAMIS, it sounds funnier than Bleach...

Jeez, we could each do a whole series on these...

SHINIGAMIS sound fun to watch

Here's the show I want to watch:

Konandaon March 16, 2010 at 8:24 p.m.

I find the Ichigo and Rukia pairing endorsed here to be disappointing. That said I would still watch Shinigamis.

For my pitch I would go with.

SurvivorMon: Follow our hero Les Stroud as he's dropped off in a remote location of the world of Pokemon and has to use his unique skills to survive until he can be rescued. He will be given a few limited supplies such as 3 pokeballs, his camera equipment, a multi-tool and a mystery item as decided by the viewers. A look on what would be needed to survive if the world of Pokemon was for reals. In a blend of Survivorman and  Pokemon the show would be filmed in an erratic documentary kind of style except the filmaker has to contend with animals that could turn him to a burnt crisp if he happens to upset them. However instead of comically standing right back up Les will be searching for a way to heal 3rd degree burns to his person.

I think this manga would be full of win :)
Sigueon March 17, 2010 at 12:32 a.m.
@Konanda: I would watch that. I'm a huge  fan of Survivorman (suck it, Man vs Wild), which makes that idea even better.
