ShojoBerry, the New US Shojo Magazine?

I'd prefer they call it ShojoBerryBeatBlues

Like this, but maybe just a smidge more adorable.

While July '09 may have taken soft romance publications off the newsstand, we might soon be due for a new challenger. Nebs has brought us word of ShojoBerry, a group of shojo-minded individuals gathered around  publisher/editorial director Garrett Boast. Currently attempting to piece together a promotional issue by Tekkoshocon in April 2010, I'm glad to hear we won't be deprived of our less testosterone-driven manga. I mean, as someone who has contemplated sandwiching His and Her Circumstances between action DVDs in the checkout line, I'm pretty stoked about it.

That said. The team seems to have started this project about the same time Beat when down, and they recommend you facebook friend them, or get on their mailing list at the offical (but shanty like) website.

Sweet! I'd love to see a new shoujo manga anthology-- but I wonder if they can get actual manga titles to publish?

On the other hand, it might be a great way for publishers unwilling to move into manga anthologies on their own (TOKYOPOP, Del Rey, etc) to promote their manga.

Literally "girl," this term is used to refer to manga aimed at young to teenage girls.
