I'm sure you will be shocked to hear that One Piece is Japan's biggest shounen manga title in the male aged 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, and 40-50 demographics. Women are only slightly more varied; 10-20 and 40-50 year old women favor Kimi ni Todoke and Nodame Cantabile, respectively, while the 20-30 and 30-40 groups are more into Nana.
Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, but Studio Ghibli has more than one director. Isao Takahata has revealed that his next film will, like Ponyo, be based in part on an old folk tale (don't forget that Ponyo has roots within Japan's own Urashima Tarou as well as The Little Mermaid). That tale, however, is one you've all assuredly come across: The Woodcutter's Tale, the story of Kaguya-hime, discovered as a baby in a bamboo plant.
Finally, the Hollywood Reporter keeps us well-informed on the latest developments for the Hollywood adaptation of the manhwa Priest: Maggie Q, who you may remember from Mission: Impossible III and Live Free or Die Hard, will join Paul Bettany in the flick.
And with that tip of the hat, I leave you be for the evening. Sleep well!
