I don't know how many of you remember when we talked about Anime no Chikara ("The Power of Anime"), a collaboration project between TV Tokyo and Aniplex to produce works by "spirited" anime creators, but ZakZak has posted about the upcoming second production in the Anime no Chikara line: Senkou no Night Raid, which is now announced to be airing this spring.
From what I hear from you readers and IRC-goers, the first anime in the Anime no Chikara line, So Ra No Wo To, isn't a huge hit, but Senkou no Night Raid-- a spy drama set in Shanghai in the year 1931, to be directed by Jun Matsumoto (the Persona -Trinity Soul- director, not the Jpop idol) --may perform a bit better. A-1 Pictures is doing the animation too, which is awesome-- check out this very brief teaser that came out around Christmas.
What say you? I think it looks pretty cool, potentially.

As long as they don't go moeing it up just because it will sell better than I'm in!
Yeah, that seems like a weird series to connect it to, since this teaser is pretty sharp and un-adorable.
I mean, I dig it, but its no mentally handicapped army band anime.
