Section23's Nov. Slate: Blue Drop, Special A, Etc

Section23's first licenses, ahoy...?

Section23, one of the new companies that sprung out fully-formed from yesterday's ADV announcements, has issued a press release announcing its first line-up of November releases. Most of the titles are being published by Sentai Filmworks and distributed by Section23, the exceptions being live-action films published by Switchblade Pictures instead.

Among the releases are what appear to be several new licenses, including the sci-fi yuri series Blue Drop, which will be released in its entirety on November 17th for $39.98, and Special A, whose first 12 episodes will be released on November 10th for the same price. But wait, there's more! S23 will also be issuing the complete collection of Polyphonica on November 17th, also for $39.98-- run time is 300 minutes, so it looks like just the first season, and Tears to Tiara's first 13 episodes, which will hit stores on November 24th, for-- you guessed it --$39.98.

There is also a listing for You're Under Arrest Season 2 Collection 1 and A Little Snow Fairy Sugar Collection 2, presumably containing the latter 13 episodes of the series, due out November 3rd and November 17th, respectively...not entirely sure why they're jumping into part two's (I thought Sugar came out in its entirety, at least), but there you go.

And last but not least, two live-action features from Switchblade are due: Ki-Gai on November 3rd and Nu-Meri ~ Book of the New Spawn on November 10th, both for $19.98.

Well, that's all pretty interesting. Definitely will want to check out Special A and Blue Drop, and maybe Tears to Tiara, though I confess Polyphonica is of less interest to me...how about you

I've been debating the last few days to get the first season of You're Under Arrest. This news has encouraged me to go ahead. I'm looking forward to the 2nd season. Wish it wasnt November though. I've already got a few other releases I'm getting in November.

Special A and Blue Drop, I'd like to get as well.

I wasn't all that thrilled with Special A, though I think fans of Ouran High School Host Club will like it. It's cute, funny, and has it's serious moments but lacks a deep plot.
Blue Drop and Tears to Tiara, now, those I'd love to see.

I've been watching Tears to Tiera, and it's OK for an anime based on a game.  I like it because of the Arthurian / Gaelic mythology connection, though it's only passing resemblance.  It is one of those that does get better as it goes on, so it's a good thing they're release the first 13 at once.
