Second Shot: Iron Man and FFXIII Thighs Revealed

Your kinda-daily Whiskey Media check-in.

Apparently the secret of the first Iron Man film's success has been revealed: Jeff Bridges tells us that the film didn't really even have a script so much as it had an outline. Perhaps even more amazing, though, is that in spite of this no fewer than FOUR Writers Guild of America members are listed as writers of the screenplay for the flick: Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. Huh.

In other news, it is still totally weird to see the green Xbox logo art on top of a Final Fantasy box, but the art for both versions of FFXIII has been released. It's the same shot, of course, but Sony called me to note that the PS3 version has a slightly larger image of Lightning thanks to their slightly smaller top bar. They also paid me $50 to say so. (I'm lying. Sony did not contact me or pay me anything. Take a joke already! Besides, PS3 boxes are smaller, so you actually see less of her, even if it's bigger.)

Also, the 360 version's image is placed such that the view Lightning's inner thigh is mostly unfettered by that pesky ESRB rating. You win some, you lose some...

We had a quiet day yesterday, which I will blame entirely on John's return from Texas-- his flight was delayed and all kinds of things and then we had to jump straight into recording the Squadcast and shooting the week's Quick Picks, which should be up later today. Why can't there be more time in the day? But if nothing else you should look into the new contest that we just launched for the entire month of December-- I think you guys will enjoy it, because it's a very easy way to win some free swag. <3

Simple and cool. Love FF and its hyperrealistic characters.

Oh man, that bit about Iron Man 1 not having a script kinda blew my mind.

@John_Martone: Seriously!

@John_Martone: Makes me wonder if the second one has a script, and if so, if it'll actually suffer for it.
