In a comment on Rob's post, Anime Insider Editor-in-Chief Summer Mullins offers this:

"It makes me feel pretty nice to know that so many people enjoyed Anime Insider. I worked on the mag from issues #15-#36, and ran it from #36-#68 (which, sadly, will never see print). That's more than 30 issues that I consider my children. The cover that Rob shows above is a special illustration that I worked with Gainax on in celebration of our issue #50, and it pretty much marks one of my proudest moments with Anime Insider. I'll miss working on the magazine, interacting with the fans, and even worrying a gray streak into my hair."

So now we know-- issue #68 won't see publication, nor will #69, so the last issue is #67, which I've pictured the cover of here. Let's buy a lot of copies to make Wizard feel dumb (or at least send the magazine off on a positive note).

I think 'make Wizard feel dumb' is a better reason but I'll cite 'sending the magazine off on a positive note' as my official reason for buying an extra copy or two.

I'll certainly buy the last issue at the very least. I can't tell by the cover, but when's the release date for it?

I just received my copy in the mail so it should be in comic stores now or very soon.

I almost bawed while reading this issue after hearing the news.
