Apparently Right Stuf will be announcing a new license at their panel tomorrow evening, but don't worry if you can't be at Expo to hear it-- even if I wasn't going to be liveblogging the event in real-time, they'll be announcing it at 8:20pm EST (5:20pm PST/7:20pm CST) right online at ComingSoon.RightStuf.com .

So! What do you guys hope it'll be? I still dream that someone will snatch up and do a sub release of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei-- not to mention Kaiba –but those are probably pipe dreams. Do any of you have more realistic guesses?

Sword of the Stranger!

It'll be right eventually, I hope.

I have a feeling it WON'T be Patlabor TV/OVA, Campus Guardress or Leda. Three licenses that would have me doing the old Toyota commercial jump kicks.

I'm crossing my fingers between Nodame Cantabile or Denno Coil.

Well, they licensed Emma, and I thought no one would pick that series up, so I hope it's Natsume Yuujinchou.

It seems that Nozomi only licenses things I like, so,

Antique Bakery? -- only 12 episodes, pre-existing and well regarded manga already available in English, and hell this one was pretty good... why hasn't it been licensed?
Tokimeki Memorial?  (they did To Heart, after all)
Sunshine (Hidamari) Sketch?  (oooo... this one's a really good guess.  And I'd love to see it -- either as a sub-only or a dub, whichever whatever)

long shot:
Yakitate! Japan.  [Damn, but someone needs to license this.  If I win the lottery: I'm buying it, subbing it, and buying time to show it on Food Network.]

longer shot:
Da Capo -- this would be a good pick-up for a sub-only release, actually, with 78 episodes and the schoolgirl/supernatural premise, and something of a fan base, but I don't see any company sinking the cash into such a long series in this market.  Of course, I could have said the same thing about Aria 18 months ago...

What I would love is a Mahoraba License. I have been waiting years for that one....

It'd be nice to see a Leda DVD release.  I still have a copy of their VHS release that I really should transfer to disc soon.  From what I heard a long time ago, Combustable Campus Guardress is unlicensable because one of the companies involved in making it went out of business and the rights are in limbo.

I'll take a stab and say Dennou Coil.
