GANTZ: TAKING OVER YOUR MEDIA CONSUMING LIFE
Volumes of some popular manga are being released this week like the 56th volume ofInuYasha and the 34th volume of Case Closed (Detective Conan). Putting those titles aside, the focus should shift to the biggest manga being released this week; the 15th volume of Gantz. I call it the "biggest" release because the premiere of the live-actionGantz movie is scheduled to be released January 20th. Therefore, because of the popularity that the book has, 2011 is already on it's high note with the this one. I have not given Gantz a try, but now I am eager to find out what the hype is all about. I am sure many of you have an opinion about this, so be sure to share it. Also, you can check out the trailer.
 
The anime releases are on the scarce side, but the first volume of the first season of the popular anime, Black Butler, is being released this week. I am more interested in the complete collection of 11 Eyes. The series is about Satsuki Kakeru's already screwed up life that becomes a trip into an alternate dimension called Red Night, where both he and his friend Yuka must fight malevolent entities known as Black Knights.

I loved 11 Eyes! I think I'd pick that up. Despite the set's hefty cost (although that is like, 12 episodes in one package) - I appreciated it for being an interesting game adaptation and I'd like to support its makers. The whole alternate dimension of the "red night" I found both intriguing and original. I similarly loved the character designs. I wouldn't mind rewatching it!
 
Black Butler is definitely one of a kind - the dynamic between Ciel and Sebastian is something that made the show very unique and throughly entertaining. I still have yet to finish the 2nd season, actually, maybe I should go do that now...

That is great.! Thanks to your comment now I want to watch 11 Eyes more than I did before. I'm glad the series was good then, since the premise sounds very interesting!

Dig Deeper into Gantz

Gantz is a story about the afterlife...well sort of. When a person dies they move on to heaven or hell...sometimes. Sometimes they move onto something called Gantz [A purgatory like state]. The main characters must survive a game called Gantz in able to become one with the living.
