I can’t resist pointing out the pun potential lurking in the fact that such an oversexed show like QUEEN’S BLADE is getting its own “ova.” Look up “ova” on Wikipedia if you don’t get it, right away. Nevertheless, the Anime News Network let us know today that Hobby Japan magazine’s going to let us know on Thursday that QUEEN’S BLADE TOSHI-TACHI is getting it own OVA - - that is, its own original video animation. It’s probably going straight to video because, if it were released in an actual theater, it’d have to be one of those that charges a dime’s equivalent in Yen for admission.
This, of course, follows our story from last fall that Media Blasters had acquired the American license to the show with the big blades and the big boobs. I assume they’re still translating it as we speak since there haven’t been any further announcements before today. Perhaps they’ve run into a wall after exhausting all the available synonyms and slang for breasts in the English language. Anyway, there’s no word yet as to when this DTV feature will be debuting, but I’ll hazard a guess that when it finally does hits, Media Blasters will likely grab it, squeeze it into English and distribute it here for all of your convenience.
