Did you know that you are living during a very important time in the history of, well everything? Yes it’s true, for Nana Mizuki has become the first seiyuu to have a number one single on the Oricon billboard chart. This single is called “Phantom Minds” and is the theme song of the new Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 1st which will open in Japanese theaters this week.

Now on the seiyuu side, Nana Mizuki is the voice actor of Fate Testarossa, and also played the role of Hinata in Naruto, Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist, Oboro in Basilik, Kururu in Bottle Fairies, Silvette in Tegami Bachi, and so much more. Congratulations Nana Mizuki, you are living the dream. However, don’t be too cocky, because once Norio Wakamoto comes out with a single, you are going to be screwed.

Well, specifically #1 on the weekly charts. Several of other seiyuu have #1 on the daily charts before. Then again it's just a matter of time since she was able to pull a #1 on the Weekly Album chart half a year ago, which is much more difficult.

Mmm, delicious Nana Mizuki. Good tune too, although I can think of other anime songs that I like better without much trouble.

It's really beautiful song.

Actually, the singing is in Italian I believe, but the song is used in Ghost in the Shell: SAC

Gotta like Nana Mizuki... I still find it hard to believe that she's got as much range as she does. I mean, if I didn't know better, I would never have thought that the Windows 7 voice theme, Fate Testarossa, and the person singing the Nanoha OP were the same person.

Nana Mizuki is very pretty! Just listening to her sing, I wouldn't think she was the voice of Fate. She sounds awesome! I am so stoked for this movie! I was sad when I finished StrikerS even though it wasn't my favorite in the franchise. Now there's something new to reawaken my passionate fangirl love for the series.

I think the entire soundtrack was pretty awesome. Dug it quite a bit. Whenever I'm researching or writing I find it easier to listen to non-english vocals, so I don't get distracted.

I just love her voice and for a while I had the complete Kingdom Hearts II soundtrack on my MP3!

Hmm...I guess my "first" connection to Japanese music would have technically been Katy's Song, from one of the Unico movies.

I was super-tiny when I watched that movie the first time. But apparently the English-language version of the song is the same music as the Japanese, but with English lyrics.

Then when I got into Sailor Moon much later, I remember all the comparisons between the English-language OP and the original Japanese. There was a pretty famous (at the time) WAV file of the two openings played at the same time, called something like "The Terrifying Bilingual Sailor Moon Theme Song"...

Ahhh, the memories.
