Pokewalker in Action

Witness the Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver gadget...

Yesterday, we showed you the trailer for Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, but it STILL ISN’T ENOUGH for all of Poke-maniacs in the Anime Vice community. You want to see more of the game, and in full-motion!   Well, snap your sweatbands on and lace up your red sneakers… we’ve got a video of the pedometer-style Pokewalker in action.

I can’t help thinking that this is a covert fitness initiative on Nintendo’s part to encourage the coupling of physical exercise and video gaming, much like the Wii FIT and the mad-juking DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION tournaments of yesteryear. What do you think? Will you strap the Pokewalker on while you’re sweating it out on the old elliptical trainer? Does this make a leisurely jog around your neighborhood block all the more exciting? Would it be enough of an incentive for you to run a marathon if it meant you could collect Pokemon that other players couldn’t even begin to dream of?

Clearly, the possibilities are endless. So are you even more excited, oh ambulatory Anime Vice community? How much longer can you wait for these two games to drop in the states?

Eh, my wrists are already aching from remembering this things incarnate.

I already walk 10-12 miles a day because of work (it's a big freakin' bookstore) so if I could get some pokekredit for that, it might be worthwhile -- but this seems... gimmicky.  Not sure what the pokewalker is, or why I should care.

I think this is pretty cool. I could just stick it in my pocket while I'm at school and get stuff.

It's a nice bonus, I think, and may encourage me to walk around more (because I don't really, ever), but I'm excited enough for HGSS without this. XD *pokefag*

I used to have the Pokemon Pikachu and it did inspire me to exercise a little (though I would usually just shake it rather than walk with it =P) But the Pokewalker is more advanced - perhaps it may motivate me to take a walk now and then.
