Otaku Blogger Stars in Nikon Ad

Danny Choo is a star outside the otakuverse now, too!

If you don't know Danny Choo, you should-- he's probably the most prominent otaku in Japan and abroad who isn't actually an animator or manga creator himself. Choo has made a name for himself in part by shooting photos of figures and other facets of otakudom in Japan (and occasionally boogying on the train in a Storm Trooper costume doesn't hurt), and it's apparently enough of a name to get Nikon's attention.

...And not just in Japan, either. Danny Choo is the newest face of the camer maker, favorite to so many avid photographers (including my own father) in this new world-wide ad campaign. Seriously, think about that: a geek blogger in Japan has become big enough that Nikon is using him for a celebrity campaign. That's seriously awesome!

Danny Choo always makes me jealous of his photo skills (among other things). I really want to learn how to take good photos.
