Original Macross Now Available On Hulu!

Surprise!

You know, I'm not quite sure how I expected today to go, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't on the list of things I thought I'd write about: Super Dimension Fortress Macross-- the one, the only, the original, the one that has nothing to do with Robotech --is currently available streaming on Hulu.

I myself have only watched a single episode of Macross before, so I'm really excited to have a chance to get to the entire 36-episode series finally. It is dubbed, however, and it was dubbed by Harmony Gold back in 1984 (the year I was born), so it's not going to be quite as slick as most of the dubs we get now. But wow. Let's watch an episode now, shall we?

Of course, for those of you who really prefer your Robotech in its original mash-up form, Harmony Gold has had it on Hulu for a little while now. (Via Jtor.)

Hmm, maybe once we're done streaming Eureka Seven we should go through original Macross. What do you think?

Actually, this is the far more recent dub ADV did a couple of years back, so depending on your opinion of their job, I'd wager the slickness keeps with contemporary standards. Possibly even more so because Mari Iijima, who voices Lynn Minmay in the original, also voices her in the dub.

Yeah, I sure love the classics the older adaptation was pretty good and has found a special place in my memory. But yea pretty slick.
