Ore no Imouto Vol. 7 extras include... an AMV?

Take note, anime fans: this is an anime music video done right.

The recent Japanese release of volume 7 of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai includes a couple of extras for fans on top of the usual bonus material seen in previous volumes. Volume 7 starts the "true route" episodes, previously streamed online only, which offer an alternate episode 12 followed by several extra episodes as opposed to the original "good end." The major change to the story being that Kirino decides to go through with her trip to America, leaving her brother on his own back in Japan.

In what may well be an effort to sell more copies (it seems logical there must be fans who preferred the original ending, as well as people who don't know about the extra episodes at all) this volume includes an AMV mash-up of footage from the various opening sequences and clips from the anime played to the full version of the opening theme, irony by Claris. Also included is the full intro for Kirino's favourite anime Stardust Witch Meruru as well as the hilarious character commentary videos that have appeared in past volumes. Each commentary features two characters from the show breaking the fourth wall to give you their personal commentary on each episode.

Oh, and on top of the digital extras, the limited edition release also includes a music CD featuring the ending themes for episodes 12 and 13 and some artwork. If you're willing to pay import prices that is.

Volume 7 can be imported from CDJapan and various other anime import sites now.

Very Interesting

I really liked how they handled the 'good end' versus 'true end' stuff, especially since the anime was so focused on visual novels it made perfect sense.

Hopefully with this they'll also announce a 2nd season that'll continue on from the true route, any excuse to have more Ore no Imouto in my life is a good thing.

The true end is just how Volume 5 of the novel really ended

@Psycosis: I'd love a second season. Might confuse viewers who haven't seen the true route episodes though, and I have a feeling if they were going to do a proper second season they wouldn't have bothered airing the true route online, it would have become the second season.

Still, you never know. The series was pretty popular.

I really, really loved this series. The true route episodes were downright the most hilarious episodes of the series. I would love to see a second season. Also, I really dug the different OP scenes for some of the eps.
It was such a "feel good" show for me.

Cool. I enjoyed the series and was pleasantly surprised when the story didn't take the brother-sister incest route. Well, not entirely, anyway.

Yea, the previews and description for the show made the majority of people think it was going to turn into that. Unfortunately, when I try to tell my friends about it or recommend it to them, they still think its that type of show.

That's what makes the music video I posted above really cool, it's nice to see bits of each of the intros brought together and compiled into one long video.

@sergio: I highly recommend the show, it's definitely one of my recent favourites.

@sotyfan16: I think it got the balance just right. It's really just a story about a brother and sister who care about each other far more than they'd like to admit. I'm sure plenty of people didn't bother checking it out after they read the summary, which is a shame really.
