One Piece Episode 0 to be Animated

Finally we can see Gold Roger in motion.

Today Shonen Jump has announced to the world that the special manga volume, “Volume 0” to be released in One Piece’s newest film, “Strong World”, will receive an anime feature. Hurray! This prequel story will also be published in the 53rd issue of Shonen Jump as well; which means that basically everyone and their dog will be able to read this story in some way or form.

So this story will tell of the tale of the One Piece world 20 years ago, and will feature the struggle between the movie’s villain, “Gold Lion” Shiki and the Pirate King before he was the Pirate King, Gold Roger. This will be released on 3,000 limited-edition DVDs that will not be for sale, but given away. Why? Because One Piece should be given away for everyone to see.

This was something that I saw on the SBS segment for Volume 55 
(For those of you who don't know. SBS stands for  Shitsumon o Boshū Suru. Which means "I'm Taking Questions". These have been a regular segment in the One Piece volumes since Volume 4. Oda takes fan questions and give answers.)

" R: Odacchi! Congratulations! They're doing another One Piece movie. But this time, it's your script, right? I'm really looking forward to it!! ...and, when I was watching the movie trailer on my computer I heard the word "Kinjishi" come up - but isn't that the flying pirate who broke out of jail 20 years ago that Sengoku mentioned in chapter 530!? There has to be some connection, right!?

O: Yes. "Kinjishi". Actually, I really wanted to have his name come up in the scene where Whitebeard talks to Shanks in volume 45. But I thought at the draft level that I was handing out too much information and confusing the readers, so I took it away - but in my mind, I have determined that he is one of the legendary pirates who played a big part during Roger's time. Though I didn't think I'd make a movie about him. In any case, "Kinjishi" escaped from Impel Down, and now that 20 years have passed, he's finally starting to make a move, and that's what the movie is about. There's an announcement on page 192. "
