Moon Phase reports that the eight episode of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya re-airing, which (some) fans have long held out hope would have new episodes mixed in with it, is actually going to be a new episoe. Specifically, the episode is called “Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody,” a story from the third novel that launches directly into to some of the larger over-arching plot of the novel series.
So, I guess that answers that question. The new episode will be airing on May 24th. Those of you who are familiar with the story, DON'T SPOIL IT HERE! I've established a discussion thread where you can talk about how you want (or don't want) the story to be handled in the anime version.
We'll leave the comments here spoiler-free for those who want to express astonishment that there really is new Haruhi going down.

First there was:

Then there was Yahtzee reviewing Valkyria Chronicles....which I actually had a dream about, but never thought it would happen since he said it would take the second coming of Jesus before he would review a JRPG in an earlier review.
And then there was Tatsunoko vs. Capcom coming stateside....
And now of course there's this!! Between CANAAN, KnK 6, all the stuff I mentioned already, and this (assuming that we actually get a fair amount of episodes out of it that are NEW) this is going to be a friggin awesome year!

lol, we all know this year will be worse then 08 (Note: My veiws of the each year are based on things like violce in the world and politics, there for the only really good thing i saw in 08 was Obama)
