Oh Went The Saints Go Manga-ing In

That headline made me cry a little inside. I hope you liked it.

Word from the Rome Reports TV news agency is that the Diocese Museum in Venice is making a special exhibit on the saints "in a language close to young people, manga."

Yes, manga: because the manga Bible was clearly a best-seller, the church-affiliated museum has manga versions of everyone from Saint George (the one who slew the dragon) to Saint Julia (a virgin martyr and saint of her homeland of Carthage).

In all seriousness, the concept is good, but I wish the art was a little stronger personally. Especially considering that this is at the "Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art"-- it just doesn't make me feel very worshipful. (Sorry to the artists behind it, who work at Studio Ebi.)

How about you guys? Anyone heading to Venice any time soon wanna check this out?

I was in Venice recently, but I was too busy climbing churches and jacking foo's with my wrist mounted blades to have time to check this out.

Also, yes artstyle looks lazy.

Yeah, the art's about as weak as the title. Okay that's bit harsh, it wasn't a bad pun nothing cringe worthy, just  an eye-roll.

Dig Deeper into Global Manga

A term of varied definitions: most people use it to refer to manga-type comics created outside of southeast Asia, although some use it to refer to such comics created outside of Japan (including Korea's manhwa and China's manhua).
