Nodame's Mangaka is Still Sick (Again)

Poor Ninomiya-sensei...

In spite of reports that a new set of one-shot manga spinoffs based on Nodame Cantabile's colorful side characters is in the works, word is now that creator Tomoko Ninomiya and Nodame Cantabile are off the docket for the time being, because Ninomiya is back in the hospital-- this time with acute appendicitis. Ninomiya took time off recently when she was giving birth, and shortly thereafter was struck with carpal tunnel syndrome, which forced her to take off more time.

No return date has been set yet, but plans will be announced in an upcoming issue of Kiss magazine (which serializes Nodame Cantabile) and its official website, so check back here for the details as we get 'em.

Hmm... this is reminding me of Katsura Hoshino and her breaks with D.Gray-Man due to health related problems.

Hope she gets better soon!

Ack, at first I read appendicitis as tendonitis, which would have been really alarming and depressing. Carpal tunnel isn't something you can just fix, and while I was glad she got back to work on Nodame, I was still pretty worried about her. It's good that it's just appendicitis though, which shouldn't be too troublesome, right? D:
