New Educational Toy: Hello Kitty Anatomical Model?

So this is what it looks like when you slash Hello Kitty's stomach open.

Filed under "There's a Hello Kitty Everything," the latest in Hello Kitty merch comes via TokyoMango and is...an anatomical model! Kinda like in your 7th-grade biology classroom. Apparently this "designer toy" was designed by one Dr. Romanelli, who is, as far as I can tell, not so much a real doctor as a real designer, which is groovy, if rather misleading. Unfortunately, I suspect that you can't pull out the pieces like a real anatomical model, which may be proof positive that this Romanelli didn't go to med school.

That said, it's another addition to the set of unique, vaguely goth and/or "ironic" Hello Kitty swag that Sanrio seems to have really embraced. And you can embrace this toy, too...I think...but I haven't actually been able to find it for sale anywhere. Dr. Romanelli's website is very fancily designed, almost like he hired the same person who created J.K. Rowling's website, except not everything is neatly labeled so I haven't been able to figure out the store, unless it actually is closed like the little sign on the store page suggests (stylism? realism? I don't know!). As of this writing, the guy's blog is busted, too.

So if anyone spots a place to buy this, or even just locates a price, give me a heads-up. I'm curious, and if it's not too expensive it might make a great Halloween decoration.

I want one.  I set up some ebay alerts.  There is also a related T-shirt I want.  The lower right one on here: http://unbar.jp/streettopix/brand/medicom_toy/new_topix/2009/08/28-120414.php#more
