Yunosuke Yoshinaga's manga Break Blade, a robot series that CMX has been releasing in English in the US (as Broken Blade), is being developed into an anime, says Moon Phase.
The story is set in a fantasy world where warriors fight in golems-- basically mechs, but powered by quartz crystals, which the warriors power up by magic. Unfortunately, main character Rygart is the only person in the world that CAN'T power them up, making him useless in battle...until he comes upon an ancient golem that doesn't seem to require any crystals. And only he can make it run.
No word on when the anime might come about or anything along those lines, but you can check out a preview of the manga over at CMX's website. The preview is very short, and you don't get to see much of the described plot, but it'll give you a sense of the art and style.
What do you think? Is this something you'll want to check out? It sounds like kind of an interesting world setting to me, and a bit of a switch from the usual "normal guy finds he has magic powers in our world" stories as well.
