The premise of this show, KEKKAISHI, is so complex from what I can gather here. I’m sure it’ll be so enthralling and make so much sense parsed out over 52-odd episodes, but it’s a dense thicket for me to shimmy through, at the moment. I think the best summary I can come up with it is that it’s like a samurai-era GHOSTBUSTERS - - which, come to think of it, is a hell of a “high concept.” In short, it seems to be about an order of feudal-era mages who hunt and capture demons and spirits, and the current generation of said mages isn’t living up to the old guard’s standards.
I bring this up because KEKKAISHI is going to start airing on Adult Swim starting the end of the month. According to Animation Insider, this will be the first “new” anime series that’s swam with the adults, so to speak, in a long while. I wonder if they’re going to re-name the show - - SAMURAI X to RURONI KENSHIN-style - - because KEKKAISHI doesn’t exactly roll of the Western tongue like a lump of sugar.
Me, myself, I’ve only ever watched anime on DVD or tape. I’ve never really watched any syndicated to Adult Swim. My dips into that pool has almost exclusively concerned AQUA TEEN and SUPER JAIL. Have they done a good job? Are you amped to see some feudal ghostbusting on there, now? Or do you wish somebody else was handling it?

I haven't watched anime on AS since Lupin III and Detective Conan were canceled. It's just not a good time.
[adult swim] is still lacking on the anime front. Parsing out 1 or 2 new animes every year or so isn’t cutting it. I know Funimation having their own channel has thrown major salt in the game… but they need to do better. This is a small step forward… HOPEFULLY.

Seen it already. Not that I watch Adult Swim but it'll be nice to see now and again.
It wasn't BAD, it wasn't GREAT either.
