Nerd Alert! Wil Wheaton on Kurokami

America's favorite geek blogger is voicing a character in Kurokami.

According to a tweet from Kurokami producer Toshifumi Yoshida, nerd king Wil Wheaton-- blogger extraordinaire, past Wesley Crusher, and voice actor –is playing a role in tomorrow's episode of the anime on iaTV. I'm told he'll be playing a Tera Guardian named Yakumo.

This isn't Wheaton's first time in an anime, since back in September Wheaton mentioned that he did a voice for Naruto (although I believe we still don't know what character or episode). That said, it's really cool to see him moving forward in the anime world. Keep auditioning, Wil-- I'm pulling for you!

(And I'm sorry for the photoshop to the right of this text. Hee.)

Wil Wheaton is awesome. Too bad I don't get iaTV to hear him, but there's always the episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold he did.

In my extended interview with him, he starts talking about doing anime versus cartoons at 4:22 and I asked him who he plays (but it seemed that was edited out by my intern)  it didn't ring a bell with me (I'm not that far into Naruto). It sounds like Menma or something like that.  He said he's in like 5 or 7 episodes and he thinks they aired in January.

You can see an edited version (with actual video) HERE.

GMan: If he played Menma, his first appearance is episode 213, which hasn't aired in the US yet.

Which would make Kurokami his anime broadcast debut :)

So there you go then. I played the audio over so many times and wasn't sure if that was what he said.  If there is a character by that name then I must've heard correctly.  Glad that's settled.  Ever since, I wondered if there was a character by that name.
