We've got
Ponyo on Blu-Ray in the US already, but I can't hide my desire to have my favorite Miyazaki films in the same format, such as
Spirited Away and
Princess Mononoke. Of course, you know it's coming, but the work it takes to create such a release is a painstaking process, so I was willing to be patient. At least, until I got word today that the UK and Australia will see a Blu-Ray release of Ghibli classic Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind before we will. And then I just got downright jealous.
Madmen Entertainment will be releasing the Blu-Ray edition, which comes to the UK October 18th and Australia in November. The Blu-Ray releases of Miyazaki's films have done very well in Japan, so let's hope someone notices and brings them stateside sooner so we can hurl money at them ferociously.
