In a Nutshell
Suigetsu cries like a little girl at the prospect of bringing back Orochimaru. However, the Orochimaru that returns is far nicer than he's ever been before and just wants to help Sasuke realize his dreams (what?!?!).
High Points
- Woo hoo, my favorite character is back.
- Ahh, he gave Kabuto some props and had a soft look in his eyes when he saw him.
Low Points
- This kindhearted Orochimaru needs to get the hell on somewhere.
- *sigh* Despite seeing the power of the Edo, he's still on some nonsense about stealing Sasuke's body.
Rants and Raves
Orochimaru is my favorite character in Naruto and I was really excited to see him back in the flesh. I thought his reaction to Kabuto was appropriate, but I thought he was way too calm and kind regarding everything else. You could almost mistake him as a good guy. For all my love of the character, I have close to no interest in seeing what he's up to in his current state.

I give this chapter a C-. Suigetsu acting like a crybaby started things off on a terrible note and then it went downhill from there. Orochimaru needs to go back to being an evil bastard asap.
this did surprise me quite a bit. what also surprised me is that Sasuke seems to have regained some sanity and common sense in that he now wants all the "facts".
Wow, this might make me pick up Naruto again. Now i'm just wondering who's gonna get back-stabbed by Orochimaru.
IMO, he was the best villain in the series.

Actually, looking at it from a different perspective Orochimaru might be happy because he has an eternal body like he always wanted. Although, him still gawking Sasuke kinda throws that idea off.
1. Orochimaru saying "I want that young body of your's Sasuke" just sounded gross
2. HOW THE HELL IS MADARA STILL THERE??? He should have disappeared with the end of Kabuto's jutsu, I swear, he's turning into an Aizen level plot device.

@Destinyheroknight: Good question. Apparently he was watching everything from Anko's body so he should be aware of how much better the Edo is than his stupid plan of stealing sasuke's body, which would reject him in a few years anyways.
@The Stegman: They actually explained how Madara is there. He completely understands the jutsu which, when combined with Kabuto giving him free will, he was able to cast the seals to sever the bond between the caster. It makes sense to me.
@Lurkero: He's still in that same crappy body that will likely give out on him 5 minutes into combat. He hacked up Madara's body and made it better, he hacked up Danzo's body and made it way better. Plot holes are the only explanation of why he didn't use a combination of curse seal cloning and suicide to resurrect himself as an Edo with the 1st's skull on his chest and like 10 sharingan eyes.
I didn't say it didn't make sense, but I just thinki it's Kishimoto and the other writer's way to keep Madara as a enemy until the very end of the arc

Well, to have it work he have to have someone he trust. Which is basically no one at this point (since Kabuto is in his little nightmare thing) and also the Edo probably won't heal his arms (if that still a problem)
@Destinyheroknight: He regained the ability to use his arms once he switched bodies. At the latest, he got back sometime before he fought Kyuubi-Naruto and was had full use and used them to summon objects.
This whole Curse Seal summon thing is a can of worms. Really, a lot of stuff about Orochimaru is a can of worms.
