More Shyamalan’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie Pics

With 100% more Sokka!

For those of you who are fans of Avatar, I have for you more pictures of the upcoming live-action film. The first one appears to be some kind of movie poster, showcasing a member of each tribe (though I’m unsure who exactly the earth tribe character is.) It makes me extremely giddy to see the cast members next to the beautiful CG; it also makes me wish I had bending powers.

Next, I have for you pictures of the four main characters, (minus Toph) in full dress. Though I wonder why no one is smiling. These characters shouldn’t be emo yet, it’s only the first movie!

Those water people are not brown enough. This is clearly racism. I am genuinely outraged.

I'm not outraged. *shrug* Rather, I'm just disappointed; it is what is, at this point. I still have my DVD boxsets and it's not like they'll magically alter themselves once the movie hits theaters. At the very least, maybe this thing will draw new fans to the TV series.

Coolio. My expectations are only marginally better than my expectations for the DB.

I'm not a real huge fan of Avatar, so the skin complexion bit doesn't really concern me.  The Movie itself does look interesting.

Avatar = a fictional world, and as such doesn't have race or ethnicity the way that the real world does. If this were anime and everyone had purple or green hair, you wouldn't be hearing people complain about the 'race' card. But because the series is heavily inspired by oriental martial art forms etc., suddenly everyone is screaming about race. But I never heard the race card once used in talking about the series. I like the series because of the story, and all I'm looking for in the movie is something that has the spirit of the animated show I loved, good acting, goodFX, good action.

The only 'big' earthbender I can think of the crew meeting in Season 1 is the King of Omashu... maybe thats him, and they adjusted his design so he doesn't look so much like an old man suffering from dementia?

I got to admit, I kinda miss the blue water tribe uniforms... but I can live with the 'natural' coloring of their outerwear, so long as when we see the martial uniforms for the tribe, they keep that striking midnight blue. :)

Why is it the 'edit' feature never works for me? My post disappears and I can't do anything when I try. So sorry for the double-post. -_-

I was going to add to my post, that this (unknown earth bender in poster) reminds me of something I've been perplexed by as I rewatch the series. During the prologue sequence for each episode as they go through the different nations... Air is obviously Aang, Water appears to be Pakku, Fire looks like Azula, but I could never place who Earth was supposed to be.
