Disney has announced its schedule fro Comic-Con, and sadly they're not headlining Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea, in favor of Tron, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy Story 3. But that's not especially surprising.
But that doesn't mean that Miyazaki isn't a part of their festivities. He will be joining Pixar's John Lasseter-- you know, the executive producer of Toy Story, Howl's Moving Castle's US release, WALL-E, Up...you name it –for a panel on Animation on Friday, July 24th at 12:45pm. And yes, he will talk about Ponyo there.
That's the only thing on Disney's schedule at the moment, though, so let's face it-- there'll be one hour for these two greats, and they're NOT going to have an open Q&A session. “John Lasseter will host the panel and Patton Oswalt will moderate a group Q&A following the presentation, which will include filmmaker insights, trailers and select film sequences.”
And no, I wouldn't be very optimistic about MY getting any questions in either. But I'm curious as to what kinds of things you would want to know about Hayao Miyazaki.
