Misato Reports the News

*sigh* Not as cool as it could have been.

It's time to learn whether the new PSN program that features Evangelion's Misato Katsuragi reading the news is anywhere near as cool as we were hoping it might be. The result? Well, she's not drunk while reading, so no, it's not QUITE as cool as it could be. And Kotaku's main video of the program features a very boring Misato sounding like a very boring computer reading some very boring Japanese news.

On the other hand, another clip Kotaku linked to offers a bit more personality (probably not a news-reading, though, it sounds like a prerecorded greeting), and also shows some of the customization you can do, including Misato's outfit, the backdrop for her news reports, and other stuff.

For a free app that's not too bad, although reportedly the content is pretty limited at this point. There might be more, but on the other hand, if it's free, so they're probably not expending massive resources on the thing. We'll see!

Since they were using Mitsuishi Kotono anyway (squee, total sell for me, personally!) they should have had her do the news as Excel instead. Or if you could switch around, Misato, Usagi, Excel, Mirielle, random girl in YajiKita Douchuuki Gakuen who has a crush on Kita... *that* would be worth getting. lol

Cheers,

Erica

If they bring something like this to America, Kratos would probably be the reporter.
