Priest v.1
Priest v.1
It's about time we had some good news for TOKYOPOP, who've been dealing with layoffs and price-raisings in recent weeks: the Hollywood Reporter tells us that Scott Charles Steward, a senior staffer at the visual effects studio The Orphanage (they worked on titles like Iron Man and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has signed on to direct a live-action Hollywood flick based on TOKYOPOP-licensed manhwa Priest.

Hyung Min-Woo's horror western manga revolves around a war between humanity and the twelve angels who fell after the war with Lucifer, due to God's shift of focus onto humans.

On my long list of manga I need to catch up on, Priest is definitely one of those mangas. (Okay, technically it's a manhwa) I only have the first two volumes, but I really enjoy them. I just saw this news announcement via an e-mail from TokyoPop. I'm not sure how well the film will turnout, but I'm not really keeping my hopes up for it.
