Meet Your New Girlfriend: Your DS

Remember that dating sim for the Nintendo DS I wrote about a while back, Love Plus? Which featured, among other things, the ability to use it as essentially a pocket girlfriend sim once you get through the game's story mode?

Well, the game is back, and now sports a trailer, via Kotaku. The trailer mostly features the girls, of course, but then spotlights the post-story mode play, including the girls' calling the player by a selected name, from a full name and honorific to a nickname like “Yuu-kun,” or even “darling.”

You'll also get to e-mail or call your virtual girlfriend, and use the stylus to touch her as you see fit...assuming she's okay with it.

I wonder if they'll make a sequel, where you go through marriage and kids and stuff? You could even call your kids on their little nanny-mode cell phones!

Yeah, you could make the comment that a game like this could just allow more otaku to substitute a real social life for a virtual one.  But I'd like to remember how popular The Sims and Second Life is here in the U.S. That being said, yeah, this game looks like fun.

But I already have Ui Hirasawa as my waifu. She's too kind to cheat on.

Dig Deeper into Moe

Moe (pronounce moh-eh) is a Japanese slang term for something one likes, and within the anime realm is used to refer to characters who inspire a protective sort of love-- usually because the characters seem to need someone to take care of them.
