Welcome to the first of several new video features here on Vice! Today's new feature is called "3-Minute Expert," and the basic idea of the feature-- which I also go over in the video, if you'd like to skip over the boring text and go straight to the video --is that I'll go just a bit in-depth on a topic of interest to you, the readers, so that you can be an expert in less than three minutes (or at least fluent enough to carry on a conversation).
This week's topic is a slapstick oldie: the facefault. Watch on as we explore a bit of the history and some of anime's best facefaults!
A few thank yous are due here: first to
Ana for her awesome first video for Vice, and to
Brandon Godfrey,
Kitonlove, and
TimeTrax for their lovely background photos.
If you guys want to submit a question or topic suggestion, send me a private message and I'll add it to our potential to-do list!
i like this feature, specifically because i probably have the least Anime / Manga knowledge on this site.
@newmarcom: Sure, that make sense, but don't blame her, she's trying! ^_^ *hides from gia's wraith*
@newmarcom: You're hired. We'll consult you next video. ;) (Edit: lest anyone think I'm being sarcastic, I'm not; that's a great idea.)
I think the nose bleed would be a nice feature of manga and anime to cover. I always saw that as a rather good tool for comedy. It's a way to show arousal. The real biological ways are far more subtle in a visual sense. For women at least. Men's tend to "stand out" a bit. It's normally not seen outside of hentai anime/manga. The nosebleed they can use as universal to both sexes. It can be used to get the point across and not be crude.
I wish I had that many manga/books in my room.
I never knew that was called a "face fault". I usually just call it "something weird that happens in anime, but then again, what isn't weird in anime". Face fault is much shorter.
Yeah, sure. Gia is kinda taking them where she can get them, but I'm sure she would love suggestions of what you guys want to hear/learn about.
