Well, FUNimation spotted that the video-- a cover of Turning Japanese --is now up, though it takes some clicking to get to-- click this link, then click on the name "Stefan Sonnenfeld," and look for the thumbnail of a blue-haired Kirsten Dunst. Here are a few more screencaps:
There's also an interview up at Studio Daily with Sonnenfeld, who did the coloring for the music video, as well; he talks a bit about the process of working with Murakami and McG-- it seems the twosome got along together very well.
P.S. If you wanted a Kirsten Dunst panty shot, here's your chance! She also snuggles a maybe-kinda-sorta Luffy cosplayer?
Seriously, though, it's kind of an interesting statement I think: a flashy, brightly-dressed Dunst runs around a noisy Akihabara, but she really stands out against everyone else wearing "normal" street clothes-- my personal interpretation is that it's trying to point out the two very different images that the west has of Japan (on the one hand: full of colorful noisy and perverted cartoons, on the other, shy, retiring, passive people).
UPDATE: Haruhi makes an appearance too!
What do you think?

I'll have to look up this music video.
Just sayin'...
So I got Haruhi, Yoko, Dragon Ball Z.
That video was just so cool.
Now all I need is for someone like Angelina Jolie to wear outfit that's like that and do music video in Akihabara.
Hm.
Ya she was way too tame to be a good Mary Jane. I'm hoping they keep to the comic MJ in the re-boot they are making. However she did kind of redeemed herself in my eyes when we got to see her boobies during the wet t-shirt scene. I was of course disappointed in the subsequent sequels total lack of Dunst boobies shown.
Yep Kristen Dunst still looks very sexy with blue hair. Also man is this video ripe for hilarious screencaps. Some of my favourites put in spoiler tags due to size.
Silly, silly, silly... pretty sweet cover of one of my favorite songs, though.
I wonder if she knows what "Turning Japanese" means?
As goofy/inauthentic as it is, that little costume she's got on is makin' me wanna behave lusciously towards her...
Oooooooooh, so lusciously.
I'd love to have some of the superflat and super-cute plushies.
Yeah, she was really not a good fit for Mary Jane. In the movie she was a demure, girl-nextdoor type that wanted to be an actress. That was not the case in the comics. It was Gwen Stacy that was Peter's first love and more the girl-nextdoor type. She died at the hands of the Green Goblin and seems to be the only death that Marvel seems to be actually sticking with.
In the comics Mary Jane is the grand daughter of one of Aunt May's friends. For the longest time Aunt May just trying to set Peter up with Mary Jane. She would always say what a nice person she is with a great 'personality'. Peter took that as meaning unattractive and avoided it. Eventually, Peter met with her and she turns out to be this smoking red head. Mary Jane was suppose to be the partying wild girl. The model/actress type.
For the movie it was like they took Gwen and Mary Jane's characters and merged them.

Whoever said she would lie to us? lol
It was mainly an excuse to post that screencap because unlike the others it's not really too amusing but it is still worthy of being posted.
If you mean as a euphanism for masturbation, that was something that got made up later and not the original intent of The Vapors.
Actually, that is the perfect comparison.
Wow I just noticed in that frame that Kristen Dunst really reminds me of a friend I have, if you subbed the blue hair for red with some blonde in it. Cool.
