So my most vivid memory of Manga Entertainment was their recent release of Redline. This seems like one of those "punk rock" anachronistic anime that just aren't made anymore. I would love to see even one release a year if it was like Redline. By the way, the ECW analogy is one of the best I've heard on the industry in the 90's.

Manga Ent pump out the majority of anime here in the UK....still. It just re-distros the most popular titles from other us distros ala Funimation...not sure how much self acquisitions they actually make nowadays directly from Japan

but's a taste of the good ol' manga days....loved those over the top dub's. Still hope someday Cyber City and Goku Midnight Eye gets a longer reboot somewhere down the line

viewer Discretion advised below....very bad language kids :oP

The only familiarity I have with Manga is Redline and the End of Evangelion/Something else I forget the name of now combo DVD pack they put out. I bought that at Best Buy years back and paid more for it than I did for the actual series. I think it was around $50.

Ah the glory that was Ninja Scroll! Those were the days were they not? When a rock monster could rape a woman and die because she was poison....maybe this explains the lack of any consummation of relationships in anime....girls do have cooties after all (just not always fatal cooties..)

@NickyCharisma: Redline was some crazy fun.

Back in the day I loved Macross Plus. And sadly I had no idea about Robotech at the time.

My anime fandom began proper in the 90s I got to see the Fist of the North Star movie, which my babysitter (I was not a kid, but I guess I was not to be trusted to look after my brothers) brought over. I was 12. Then the hentai came. I battled the Overfiend.

Then I started seeing anime on TV, when Saturday morning cartoons were still a thing. I eventually gained spending power, so I actually could buy video. I still own a few VHS tapes, and some DVDs. I SO own the Ghost in the Shell movie! Take that! I also own Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D. I bought these in a store where they specifically sold physical DVDs. I know kids have no idea what the hell I'm babbling about.

I never knew that KMFDM was the official anything of anime, but coincidentally I decided to watch my regular podcasts. Bennett the Sage from That Guy with the Glasses, and then this show. Bennett uses that KMFDM song as his theme, but his anime showcase is of all the anime of yesteryear he considers to be terrible.
