Lyric master Toshio Oka Passes Away at Age 92

A moment of silence for this epic lyricist.

Today at 4:02 am Toshio Oka died of renal failure at his Tokyo hospital at the age of 92. He was well known for being a lyricist for Nippon Columbia, where he wrote the lyrics for some very well known anime and Tokusatsu shows like Casshern, Gatchaman, and Triton of the Sea.

In 1963 he won the Lyricist Award during the 1963 Japan Record Awards for “Koukou Sannensei”, and his other songs. Let us remember him by listening to some of his songs right now, for that is the way I’m sure he would like to be remembered.
