Lupin vs Conan Confirmed...But Who Will Win?

This sounds too awesome.

So, a while ago I posted a rumor about the Lupin vs Conan anime special, which has been officially announced now-- apparently it's in celebration of NTV's 55 anniversary.


The special is being offered as a dream match-up with a completely original tale of arrest, escape, and the world's greatest thief versus the world's greatest detective-- as well as all your other favorite cast members from both shows. It's also a full partnership between Lupin creator Monkey Punch and Conan creator Goushou Aoyama, and will air in March.


I'm totally and completely in for this. How about you guys? And perhaps more importantly-- who do you think will win? My personal vote goes to Lupin, because he's just too awesome. Any Conan fans want to argue? Go to it in the comments!

The special will end in a draw; Conan will solve the unsolvable and Lupin will still get away.

Fujiko wins, natch.  Kudo, working with Zenigata, 'catches' Lupin but he gets away -- but Fujiko pulls a double cross and escapes Zenigata, Kudo, *and* Lupin and the show ends with her lounging by a pool at some mediterranean resort wearing a fabulous high-cut, plunging white one-piece while sipping on drinks with little umbrellas in them.

I've fell out of love with Conan a while ago. But I'm still pretty excited about this...  maybe enough to buy a boxset or two.

I'm hyped about this. I don't think there will be a winner between the two. My guess for the plot is that Lupin will be framed for murder and he tries to find the culprit. Meanwhile, while Zenigata and Kogoro Mori searh for Lupin, Conan has hie doubts that Lupin is the murder. Thus, they will eventually team up and stop the bad guy. And of course, Lupin gets away and Conan is still a little kid at the end.

Created in 1967 by mangaka Monkey Punch, the wildly successful Lupin III features the "gentleman thief" Arsène Lupin III. Lupin III is the grandson of Arsène Lupin, the fictional lead character of Maurice Leblanc's French novel series, published in the early 20th century.
