Luffy to be the Cover Model for Japanese Men’s Fashion Magazine

Powerful, sexy, and stretchy--what more can a girl ask for?

Here is a nod to the unexpected, Luffy of One Piece fame will be adorning the next cover of Shueisha’s Men’s Non-No magazine, which just so happens to ship of Thursday. Oda himself has personally drew the image for the magazine, the first time he has drawn a cover for a non-manga magazine; this is also the first time a manga/anime character has appeared on the cover in the entire 24-year history of this magazine.

Luffy will not be the only Straw Hat pirate to appear in the magazine--Nami, Robin, Zoro, and Sanji will also appear. Though they will be played by real-life models adorning stylish attire that would match well with things pirates and One Piece characters would wear. This is all in time for the new One Piece film, “Strong World” which will hit theaters the 12th of December. Mad props to Luffy for being the anime/manga ambassador to the men’s fashion world.

I'm wondering how faithful the real-life models will be to the series.  I wonder if Zolo will have green hair?  Will Sanji have curly eyebrows?  And (ahem) then there are the proportions of Nami and Robin.  It should be interesting to say the least.

Dig Deeper into One Piece: Strong World

The 10th One Piece film, due out in December 2009. A pirate from the age of Gold Roger has revealed himself to rise once more, and that pirate is Shiki. Shiki kidnaps Nami, and Luffy wont let her go.
