That said, Sankaku may be jumping the gun a little bit, declaring that the country is “set” to ban loli when in fact the ban hasn't yet gone through. Another article over at Onii-chan no Ecchi offers some more insight into the ban, and how those in the UK can oppose the ban if they so choose. Another blogger, Certifiably Insane, also offers an in-depth look at the process.
As Onii-chan no Ecchi notes, supporting free speech in this issue doesn't make one a pedophile, just like opposing it doesn't make one a religious nutjob. So play nicely in the comments, kids.

I .... I honestly don't know. Loli has always been something I've tried to steer clear off and kind of ignore it's existance, not even think about it about to any extensive point so I could never come close to judging.
Actually what's your opinion Gia?
a) unproven, and virtually impossible to prove, that it leads to molestation of real live kids, and
b) potentially an outlet for people with an inclination to molest young kids.
I remember reading comments from a woman who claimed to be a psychologist who worked with pedophiles, and she found that most of them had no interest in loli comics and whatnot because they're really mostly a fantasy that bears little to no resemblence to real live children, which ties into a. People who want to ban lolicon mostly just don't realize that what they're trying to do is control people's THOUGHTS-- it's not illegal to BE a pedophile, it's only illegal to act on those urges.
Now, admittedly, the aforementioned anecdote from the psychologist suggests that b) might not be true on a very significant scale, since it declares that this fantasy fiction isn't of interest to 'live' pedos. But if having that outlet even made just one pedophile able to keep their hands off-- and, as I addressed in a, doesn't lead others TO acts of pedophilia --then I'm okay with it.
So you are saying that you like little girls? ***ing pedo!
Brilliant! Just Brilliant! Comparing something that isn't irrelevant to topic.
