The thing you’ve got to love about the internet is how any idle thought you have, no matter how absurd, will eventually manifest in one way or another. It’s as if the idea’s an bubble that escapes from your lips when spoken, only to float into the stratosphere, harden up there and then fall back to Earth. In this case, it’s my morbid thought about POKEMON going through some “grim and gritty” deconstruction that so many other franchises inevitably go through when their audiences get older and start demanding more from the stories they grew up on.
Below, you’ll see a trailer for POKEMON: APOKELYPSE, a live action, high-definition look at what happens when an haggard, adult Ash Ketchum is forced to deal with the corrupt, seedy cock fight that Pokemon battles have devolved into. See an emaciated Pikachu! Watch an unshaven Ash face a hard choice about Misty and Brock! Witness a gun-packing and doubly-evil Team Rocket!
And let me clarify… this is A FAN-MADE, UNOFFICIAL TRAILER! It isn’t “real.” This was made for fun (and you can get the whole story here.) There’s no actual movie in development… but this is still one morbidly-entertaining bit of black humor.

Gary Oak's only comment was "You cannot ignore my girth." on the news ticker made me laugh pretty hard.
Yet entertaining... I hope they never make a live action Pokemon movie though!
I have to admit though, I'd love it if there was a Pokémon anime aimed at older audiences. I highly doubt it would ever happen, but it has the potential to be amazing.
As far as I know, the anime we get at the moment is pretty much the same story told again, again... and again. Just with new Pokémon and a new girl, and another fried bike.
YES!
Agreed. There is almost no way that a live-action Pokemon movie would ever work. Besides, Nintendo would never allow it either (if they were smart and knew that it would be a big failure).
